Become a volunteer!

UPDATE: 23 March 2020
It is with sadness but with safety in mind that we have decided to temporarily cease all community events and close the Scullin Traders due to the COVID-19 virus. Giving the uncertainty around the pandemic and with the safety of our volunteers in mind our 100% volunteer run project will shut its doors.  We feel confident this is the right decision, and will let us come back from a strong position – in whatever form is needed – after the pandemic is resolved.

While many of our regular volunteering opportunities are on hold, there are plenty of ways to help throughout the coming months. If you aren’t connected to us on our social channels or don’t see an opportunity for you there, please email us on [email protected] and we’ll find a way for you to help out the community.  Many thanks!

We are always looking for people to volunteer, lead a project or simply get more involved in what’s happening in Scullin.

If you’d like to chat about how you can help, email us on [email protected]

There’s something for everyone, from those wanting to volunteer in our shop, to people keen to get outdoors and do some gardening, or skilled volunteers wanting to offer their professional skills.

The Scullin Traders also has six key volunteer roles that help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. Have a look at the role descriptions. If you would like to put your hand up for one, make sure you get in touch.

We’d love to hear from you, regardless of what you do and where you live!

Share your skills

We have skilled volunteers from architects to photographers to web developers to tradies donating their time.

Work in the Scullin Traders

Our beautiful community entrepreneurship hub, the Scullin Traders shop is 100% volunteer run. We are always looking for people able to take on a three-hour shift each week (we will train you!).

Start a regular event

Most of our regular events started because someone put up their hand to run them. Maybe you have an idea?

Help green up Scullin

Volunteers look after the raised garden beds we built and installed in the courtyard of the Scullin shops. We are currently looking for volunteers keen on some revegetation work to join our new “Parks and Places” group.  (No experience required, just a willingness to get your hands dirty!)
